I was not always a good student, and I said to my dad, I thought I would go to college and he said, Really you And it was the big wake up call for May. Both my parents were proud of their careers in law enforcement. I always thought public service was incredibly important. If you would have told me that I'd reach my dream of flying a Navy jet commanding the space shuttle twice probably wouldn't believe yet.
